Ranthambore Tiger Reserve Climate

Ranthambore Tiger Reserve is the Main gateway of the famous Thar Desert in Rajasthan, its experiences an extreme type of desert climate, during the summer time which extends from March to June, the day temperature up so high that it makes the weather extremely dry and hot. At times, the day temperature of Ranthambore even crosses the limit of 45°c in summer. The average temperature of summer inRanthambhore Tiger Reserveranges around 40°c and minimum temperature can go down up to 28.8°c. Some experts believe that summer is the ideal time for animal sighting as they are so agitated with heat that they frequently come near water bodies. Or animals turn lazy due to heat and like relaxing in the shades so we have less risk of attacks. But opinions do vary.


Winter in Ranthambhore Tiger reserve between in October to March. Winter is quite cold with temperature around 16°c to 20°c during day time. At night temperature can go as down as 2°c and makes the weather extremely cold. Winter is the best season to visit Ranthambore National Park as the soothing and pleasant weather conditions make it possible for the tourists to spot large number of animals moving around freely. The entire region of wildlife sanctuary echoes with the chirping of jolly birds during spring and winter.


Monsoon extends from July to September. It doesn’t rain heavily but the weather becomes very humid up to 90% during rainy season. As monsoon departs, it leaves the entire region covered with lush greenery and abundant in wildlife. Ranthambhore National Park is open for tourists from 1st October to 30th June every year
